> Typical villages
Bessas, this village full of flowers, which has often been rewarded, is situated on a hill at 280m. It dominates the whole area, with incredible views on the Gard, Vaucluse and even the Mont Ventoux.
Lagorce, small medieval village, situated on top of a rock, its guides will help you discover the unique natural and cultural heritage, especially where the silk worms are concerned.
Other villages you must really visit : Labastide de Virac, Vagnas, Bidon, Sampzon, Salavas, St Remèze, Orgnac-l'Aven...
> Prehistory
In this region numerous caves are open to the public ; they belong to the most beautiful ones you can ever see in France. Among these you will find the Aven d'Orgnac caves, they show the historical traces that were left by our ancestors 30 000 ans before our era

In July : fête du four (oven day) (Salavas), fête de la Lavande (lavander day)(Vallon Pont d'Arc), lots of night markets (Salavas and Vallon Pont d'Arc), fête du Livre (book day) (Lagorce)
We recommend you to visit the different regional markets in Salavas and the other villages (they take place each day during the high season). Every Tuesday night of July and August special « night » markets take place in Vallon, but also in Salavas on certain Monday evenings.
> The Ardèche
This site is remarkable where the quality of the scenery, the variety and richness of the natural, historical and prehistorical heritage are concerned.The Ardèche gorges and its plateaus yearly seduce lots of visitors who are keen on making discoveries, evasion and activities in the open air.
The Ardèche gorges, the Pont d'Arc and the Dent de Rez mountains are a nature reserve, classified site and they are officially biotope protected.
